Who Took The Pictures

There I am a normal monday morning going about my work when two Interior designers burst into the Inn and strip the walls of family pictures treasured bits of Cotswold History and many other loved and cherished bits eg"A full frontal of Erica Roe".After a two hour pause in the proiceedings they then start to move tables and chairs around and break open old dooors that have been locked for decades .By now you must be wondering where this is going well the results are plain to see ,the bar has been transformed into a lighter and more open feeling enviroment to drink and eat in and the restaurant has been made to feel more like a casual eating area and an extension of the bar.Now to the culprits in this fantastic crime two of my best friends one who is extremly hairy and the other is called Kieran and Irishman "only Joking Pamela".Please come and see what you think to the changes as to date we have had only positive feed back .
PIe Night is going strong and the Mystery pie is the most popular "who said English people are not adventurous ?
Have been spending lots of time in the office of late so Ian our chef has been left without me poking my nose in but he is of today and I am with Danh the Man creating and messing Ians fridge up ,we will put it back together before he comes back from his days off.
If you have a glut of soft .herbs all at once there are two ways to preserve them both involve blanching "blanching is when you drop fresh herbs into boiling water for a couple of seconds and then straight into ice cold water" after you have blanced and sqeezed the water from your herbs Either freeze them or mix them with soft butter and keep it in the fridge and use either in sauces or on a steak or fish.
Bobs Bit they have all found homes and Bob has vetted all the new owners of his latest litter. He is having a rest for spring but is hopping fatherhood will come around this summer if the talent is about for him.

Bloggers

Tuesday, 2 March 2010

Hi folks sorry i have missed my blog sessions but our computer has been playing silly buggers and we are in need of a new one .So whats been happening in blogginn land since my last chat.Pie nights are going well and we are now having to think of the next special deal evening as as flaky pastry pie with ale and steak might not go down well in one of our sweltering summers . Fish night is a contender or something from the Grill night for example : a ribeye with fat chips and sald or a pork T bone with sweet potato chips Barnnsley chop or even a Halibut steak. All of these ideas are making me think of summer and dont we need one soon. The Irish have just kicked our buts on the rugby field and now they are all comming to stay for race week maybe they will have forgotten by then.Bob want you all to know that all his 10 new Black pedigree puppys are doing well and he can get you a good price on the Black lab market.Tip from the kitchen is if you have got an old piece of granite work surface or you can get hold of a piece its the only way to work with pastry as the granite retains a constant cold temperature and working with pastry is a dream .

The Mystery Pie

Its here the mystery pie until you break open Heathers crumbly short crust pastry you will not know what is inside the steaming hot pie ,last night pie goers were given fresh wood pigeon and smoked bacon in a rich red wine and juniper sauce and the lucky ones who took the mystery gamble said it paid off and they though it was wonderful.
Bob was graced with the presence of two wymiranas last might but they were straying together and not getting split up by his advances. This weekend we a seeing a full house of guests and hope the weather will nice for them so they enjoy the Cotswolds and surrounding villages. Were making Hand raised Pork pies today and I remember a good tip make there near the stove where it is warm so the lard does not set to quickly while you are making them. Look forward to chatting again soon try and smile April will be here soon and its my Birthday Chow
